Liposculpting with Lipostabil

This exciting new therapy provides an alternative for people with fatty areas who would otherwise have only considered liposuction. Essentially the fatty area is identified and measured with calipers. We inject the area with a few small painless injections and wait for the skin to react.

The active ingredient is a derivative of Soya beans and breaks down fat in a similar way to bile dissolving lipids in the gut. It is seen as an extremely safe product (sold over the counter in Germany), is good for your cholesterol levels and considered to be a brain food.

Liposculpting-Skin Tightening

The reaction under the skin feels warm, itchy and can look mildly red and swollen in the injected area. This reaction goes on for about two days and generally the bigger the reaction, the better the result. The dissolved fat passes harmlessly out through the kidneys and you may notice a darkening of your urine during this time. Unlike liposuction, the results take about 6 months and three to four series of injections to complete. You should expect to lose 1cc of fat each month. So if you start off with an abdominal roll of 5cm of fat then after the first month this should have reduced to 4cm. After the next injection it should reduce to 3cm and so on. If you are eating and exercising healthily you can expect to lose 2cm of fat per month. If you are putting on weight then you should still expect to be losing half a centimeter in the area per month.

A unique and exciting aspect of this treatment is how Lipostabil not only dissolves the fat, but also shrinks the skin in the area leaving a sculpted look. Hence the term liposculpting. This is as a result of the inflammatory process in the area which then causes a mild fibrotic change that tightens the skin.

95% of people respond to Liposculpting and the areas that respond particularly well are: bags under the eyes, jowling of the jaw, love handles of the waist and back and saddle-bags of the legs. Moderate to good results are found on the stomach and inner thigh. Moderate to poor results are found on the upper arm, and knee area.
