They differ from varicose veins of the leg which are large blue deeper veins that require more serious treatments. Woman are more prone than men due to hormone fluctuation and pregnancy. The treatment involves injecting an irritant into the network of veins. This is fairly painless and takes just 30 minutes. You can go straight back to work and do not even need bandaging up afterwards. Side effects can be bruising. We generally have a follow-up consult 1 month later.
